MUJERES

"Women have a choice. They can aspire to be wise, not merely nice; to be capable, not merely helpful; to be strong, not merely graceful; to be ambitious for themselves, not just for themselves in relation to men and boys. They can let themselves grow old naturally and without shame, actively protesting and disobeying the conventions that arise from this society's double standard on ageing. Instead of being girls, girls for as long as possible, who then become middle-aged women in a humiliating way, they can become women much earlier and remain active adults, enjoying the long and erotic career of which women are capable, much longer. Women should let their faces show the life they have lived. Women should tell the truth.
