Glossary:
academic: related to education, especially education in colleges and universities
banding: a system of putting students into groups according to their abilities so that students of different abilities are taught together
course: a set of lessons about a particular subject
curricular: relating to the subjects that students astudy at a particular school
diachronic: relating to or involving the changes that take place in something over a period of time, especilly in a language.
didactic: intended to teach something, especially a moral lesson
elementary : relating to the first and most basic things that you learn about a subject
exam: an official test about how much you know about something

heuristic: relating to a method of teaching or learning in which you learn from your own discoveries and experiences

remedial intended to help people who have difficulties learning the basic skills of reading, writing, etc
self-educated taught by yourself instead of by teachers or other people

studies: the work that you do while you are at a college or university

synchronic relating to the study of something, espeially a language, at one particular time without considering its history
Actividades recomendadas
a) Intenta contar de qué se trata el video con tus propias palabras. Hazlo de manera sencilla. Si no encuentras las palabras, dilo como puedes NO como quieres y verás que igualmente lograrás expresarlo claramente y te sentirás conforme. Si la palabra adecuada, no aparece, parafrasea. Sí, fabrica con tu propio vocabulario el significado de la misma. Por ejemplo: intentas decir "teacher" y la palabra no viene a tu cabeza: entonces parafrasea. Podría ser algo así: "the person who explains things to students". Se entiende lo que digo? Inténtalo y verás que es útil.
Si es posible, te grabas y oyes si te conforma o no lo que escuchas. Puedes mejorarlo y volver a grabarte hasta que escuches el relato como verdaderamente lo deseas o como más te agrada. No seas muy exigente contigo mismo. Todo es cuestión de práctica.
b) Como última actividad te sugiero. Presta atención a las palabras que el abuelo aprende en el video y revisa si recuerdas sus significados. Si hay algunas más que no aparecen, regresa a mi blog y te fijas.
